For the more athletically minded, try, Paradise Palms Golf Course (rated in the top 10 Public courses in Australia and only 5 minutes by car from us), Novatel Palm Cove Golf Course or Half Moon Bay Golf Course. All within 5-15min drive of Clifton Beach Retreat. There are also 4 more courses within 60mins drive. At Palm Cove beach you can hire a jet ski or canoe. Cruise the waters of Trinity Inlet (Cairns Harbour) in your own hire boat or grab a bicycle from one of the many outlets and cycle around the local area. Cairns is also, justly, renowned for it's fishing. Whether it be throwing a handline in off the jetty at Palm Cove or out in the deep sea chasing the elusive Black Marlin, or take a trip to Catch a Barra, south of the city and be assured of landing a Barramundi. Be careful, heat and humidity in Cairns can be deceptive, so always carry and drink plenty of water and wear sun protection. |
